Volunteer Programs

Casa Xalteva students who have some proficiency in Spanish may volunteer for a few hours a day with Casa Xalteva or with a variety of other social service programs. These include children's academic programs, youth centers, children's sport teams, tutoring, and teaching English.

Casa Xalteva  assists our students in finding volunteer organizations to meet the student's interests based on their request.  Many students stay on after their Spanish classes are finished to continue with volunteer programs.  They are usually able to continue to stay with Casa Xalteva homestay families and participate in Casa Xalteva's extracurricular activities.  They continue to be very much a part of the Casa Xalteva family while they are contributing to improving life for individuals and communities in Nicaragua.
